PETS FOR REHOMING AND ADOPTION
The JIREH K9 Training Academy is committed to providing the highest level working dogs to public safety organizations around the world. Because the standard for working dog prospects is set so high, sometimes we have great dogs that don't quite make the cut for our program. While these dogs don't make it through our training program, they are still very high drive and energetic dogs that will require a very active lifestyle. These dogs are not for sale but a very reasonable re-homing fee will a part of the adoption process. If you think you're up for the challenge of adopting one of these very unique dogs, here is your opportunity!!
JEDI
Jedi was accepted into the JIREH K9 training program in early March, 2024. He was evaluated by our trainers and began his training in narcotics detection shortly after. Through the course of his training, Jedi began to show signs of inconsistent drive and unwillingness to work. After undergoing a series of tests and modification methods, it was determined that Jedi isn't suitable for a job in law enforcement.
Jedi is a 1 year old male, Belgian Malinois with TONS of drive. He loves to play with a frisbee and will wear you out!!! He's a bit rough and pushy but overall pretty good with kids and strangers. He has a very high prey drive and will probably chase cats or other fast moving rodents.
Jedi was removed from the potential law enforcement K9 roster and has now been placed on the Adoptable Active Pets list. Jedi is up-to-date on vaccines and current on heart-worm prevention. Jedi is currently located at the JIREH K9 Training Academy in San Antonio, Texas. JYNX
Jynx was transported to JIREH K9 from the State of Virginia in early March, 2024. Our trainers began her training in narcotics detection to which she grasped and picked up very quickly. Jynx was imprinted on the odors of cocaine and heroin. Through the course of her training, trainers noticed Jynx would display signs of, random skittishness and random timidness. After trying to work passed the issues, trainers determined that her environmental confidence does not meet the standard held for Police K9s here at JIREH K9.
Jynx is a 2 year old female, Belgian Malinois. She has some training in narcotics detection but we are not placing her as a working dog, she is on our Adoptable Active Pets list. Jynx is an absolute sweetheart and has never met a stranger since we've had her. She is very high drive and has intense energy. Great with kids and pretty social with strangers. She has a very high prey drive and will probably chase cats and other fast moving rodents.

TOOTSIE
Tootsie was evaluated for narcotics detection in early May, 2024 and knocked it out of the park!! After a few weeks of training Tootsie began to show lack of interest in detection training and her reward toy. Trainers determined that Tootsie is not suitable for detection work in a law enforcement capacity. Tootsie has now been placed on the Adoptable Active Pets list.
Tootsie is a 2 year old, female Dutch Shepherd. She is great with kids and very approachable by just about anyone. This pup has a high prey drive and will more than likely chase cats, chickens or other fast moving animals. She is very energetic and will require an active lifestyle.
